Job Purpose
The Senior Accountant is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely accounting records, financial reporting, account reconciliations, compliance with accounting and tax regulations, and support for month-end and year-end closing activities. The role contributes to the integrity of financial information, supports management decision-making, and ensures compliance with company policies and statutory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting Operations
- Ensure the complete and timely collection, review, and processing of accounting documents.
- Verify, process, and monitor employee expense reports and supporting documentation.
- Maintain accurate accounting records in accordance with applicable accounting standards and company policies.
- Ensure proper accounting treatment and documentation of fixed asset transactions.
- Prepare periodic cash flow forecasts and liquidity analyses to support business planning and decision-making
Financial Reporting and Reconciliations
- Prepare and reconcile financial reports, schedules, and supporting documentation.
- Produce periodic financial analyses and management reports as required.
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities.
- Assist in the preparation of statutory financial statements and audit schedules.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of accounting data and reconciliations.
Compliance and Controls
- Ensure compliance with accounting, tax, and financial reporting regulations.
- Follow and support implementation of internal controls, company policies, and accounting procedures.
- Maintain complete and organized accounting documentation and archives.
- Respond to requests from auditors, tax authorities, regulatory bodies, financial institutions, and management.
Inventory and Fixed Assets
- Participate in inventory counts and asset verification processes.
- Support reconciliation of inventory records with accounting records.
- Monitor and validate accounting treatment of inventory and fixed asset movements.
Systems and Process Improvement
- Participate in testing and implementation of finance and accounting system enhancements.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives aimed at increasing efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
- Support digital transformation and automation projects within the Finance Department.
Business Support
- Collaborate with all company departments to ensure accuracy of financial information.
- Represent the company in delegated financial and accounting matters when authorized.
- Perform additional duties consistent with the role and business requirements.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
Experience
- Minimum 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Experience in general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and month-end close processes.
- Experience working with ERP/accounting systems.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of accounting and tax legislation.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel.
- Experience with accounting software and ERP systems.
- Understanding of financial reporting, reconciliations, and internal controls.
- Foreign currency accounting knowledge is preferred.
Language Skills
- English – Intermediate level or higher.
