Scope of the role:
The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) Manager possesses a high level of scientific expertise in the fields of rheumatology and gastroenterology and is responsible for discussing treatment options, our products, patient treatment trends, and studies in areas where we collaborate with external specialists and other healthcare professionals on a peer-to-peer basis. The MSL is regarded as the company’s trusted scientific liaison.
Your role:
- The MSL role is field-based. It serves as a field-based extension of the Medical Affairs team. HCP-related activities are expected to account for 80–95% of the MSL’s responsibilities.
- Through scientific interactions, the MSL gains valuable insights into treatment patterns and scientific activities in the field of inflammatory medicine and will make important strategic contributions to the company’s Medical Affairs plan.
- Through scientific interactions with external stakeholders, the MSL will enhance the medical value of our products based on the benefit-risk profile of our medications and help promote innovative therapeutic approaches for patients.
- Through activities aligned with the Medical Affairs Plan, the MSL shares responsibility for the implementation of short- and long-term company goals and is responsible for carrying out the MSL activities described in the respective country-specific Medical Affairs Plan.
The role involves collaboration with all members of the Medical Affairs department as well as cross-functional interactions with other relevant country-specific roles.
Who are you:
- Advanced degree in life sciences (MD, PharmD, PhD, or equivalent) required
- Extensive experience as an MSL in this field or equivalent experience preferred
- Solid track record of effective and influential oral presentations in the healthcare/scientific community
- Therapeutic/research experience or extensive experience in patient care required
- Medical, clinical, or research experience in the field of inflammation desirable
- Native German speaker, very good English skills
