Indirect Procurement Category Manager

As we continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced Indirect Procurement Category Manager to join our dynamic team.

Scope of the role:

This position supports the Head of Indirect Procurement to manage the procurement activities related to indirect goods and services within Alfasigma organization.

 

This role involves developing and implementing effective supplier and category strategies, negotiating with suppliers, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring cost-effective procurement processes.

The Indirect Procurement Category Manager collaborates with various departments to understand their procurement needs and aligns procurement strategies to support the organization's overall goals and objectives.

 

Your key responsibilities:

 

1) Category and Supplier Strategy:

  • Develop and implement strategic procurement plans for indirect goods and services.
  • Analyze market trends, supplier capabilities, and industry best practices to identify procurement opportunities and risks.

2) Supplier Management:

  • Identify potential suppliers, conduct supplier evaluations, and negotiate contracts and agreements.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring high-quality products/services and timely deliveries.
  • Monitor supplier performance, resolve issues, and implement improvement plans as necessary.

3) Cost Management:

  • Optimize costs by negotiating favorable terms and conditions with suppliers.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and implement cost reduction initiatives without compromising quality or service.

4) Collaboration and Communication:

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (such as departments requiring indirect goods/services) to understand their needs and requirements.
  • Communicate procurement policies and procedures to internal teams, ensuring compliance and understanding of best practices.

5) Compliance and Risk Management:

  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Identify and mitigate procurement-related risks, such as supply chain disruptions or supplier financial instability.

6) Contract Management:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, ensuring terms are favorable and in compliance with legal requirements.
  • Monitor contract performance, renew contracts as needed, and manage contract expiration and renewal processes.

7)Data Analysis and Reporting:

  • Analyze procurement data to identify trends, track performance metrics, and prepare reports for management.
  • Utilize data-driven insights to make informed decisions and improve procurement processes.

 

Who you are:

 

  • Master’s degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • Proven experience in indirect procurement, preferably in a managerial role. Experience in pharma industry as a plus.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers.
  • In-depth knowledge of procurement best practices, contract management, and supplier evaluation.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
  • Familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards in procurement.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience in mature and structured organizations.
  • Involvement in procurement transformation initiatives.
  • Strategic thinker with excellent planning and organizational skills.
